Position Overview Employer: The Floating Hospital Location: Queensbridge Astoria, New York Specialty: Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Hospitalist Employment Type: Full-Time (Permanent) Shift: Day Schedule Compensation: $210,000 per year Start Date: As soon as credentialed Responsibilities
- Provide medical care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients
- Obtain relevant patient histories and perform complete well-care examinations
- Conduct gynecological histories and physical examinations as indicated
- Diagnose conditions and prescribe appropriate medications
- Complete medical documentation and required forms related to patient care
- Respond to patient telephone inquiries
- Coordinate referrals and ensure appropriate follow-up care
- Assist with immunizations and phlebotomy as needed
- Promote disease prevention, health maintenance, and patient education
- Provide counseling on chronic disease management, prenatal care, parenting, nutrition, family planning, stress management, and medication use
- Provide patient advocacy services
- Supervise mid-level providers under collaborative agreements
- Participate in peer review, case conferences, and case management activities
- Participate in on-call rotation
Administrative & Educational Duties
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement medical protocols with the Clinical Guidelines Committee
- Collaborate with Benefits Counselors, Outreach staff, and HIM supervisors
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies
- Provide technical guidance and teaching to Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
- Medical Degree from an accredited institution
- Active New York State Medical License
- New York State Board Certification
- Minimum of two years clinical experience preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish or other languages) preferred
- Ability to verify identity and employment eligibility in the United States
